Full-Grown Emo Teen 4.19.17

I started off my day doing one of my favorite activities – watching my favorite 50+ beauty YouTubers. I’m obsessed with the travails of aging skin, probably inspired by my hopeless quest to never die.

I’ve lost some weight recently so a lot of my clothes aren’t fitting great and I’m trying to wear some stuff while I still can. These pants are going to need to retire soon, so I paired them with a belt I’ve owned since high school and my high school Chuck Taylors and suddenly I was dressed like a full-grown emo teen.

Processed with VSCO with c1 presetLuckily, in real life I have the perfect date. 🙂 While Frida was at work I self-taped an audition and did some wedding planning (yes! We’re finally making some progress!). I picked Frida up at work and we went to Filmtools in Burbank to get some supplies for our YouTube set because we are stepping up our professionalism and shit! Then we went to the gym for more consistent, moderate exercise.

I was on Twitter a fair amount today, talking about Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Bill O’Reilly, because 2016 never, ever ends. I think I have reached a point with Bernie where I really don’t have the energy to politely keep my opinions to myself anymore. I am sick of the double standard that I am supposed to accept people hating Hillary Clinton and telling me why every single time her name is mentioned, but if I have any negative opinions about Bernie I am dividing, being petty, or I’m just a bad person. I find it ridiculous that my opinion of one person is so important to people. He is not God. He is one politician. I don’t have to like him. I think his current routine of bashing the Democratic Party is incredibly damaging. We need the Democratic Party to make a sweep in 2018, and we won’t do that by heaping opprobrium on it. His comments about Jon Ossoff not being a progressive are damaging. Ossoff is currently running for a Congressional seat. He’s pro-choice, pro-LGBT, believes in climate change, wants to protect the ACA – we need people like him in Congress. Even Keith Ellison today made some critical comments about Barack Obama. I love Ellison but dude, that’s not your job. You’re the Vice Chair of the DNC. Be a cheerleader. Lift up the party. The Republican Party always shits on the Democratic Party, and the Democratic Party shits on the Democratic Party. And we wonder why we’re losing elections?

I have a lot of friends who are big Bernie fans, by the way. I think it’s great they have someone who inspires them. I don’t think my opinion of one politician should determine who I’m friends with. I think the fact that it does for so many people is exactly the problem with him.

I cried because of this meme today, and then later I told Frida about the meme and cried again. Ridiculous.
